SQL Stored Procedure: Conditional Return

Question

Hi I want to create a simple stored proecudre which does the following:

Psudocode

@tempSelect = "SELECT * FROM Table"

if (@Param is NULL) then
 exec @tempSelect
else
 exec @tempSelect + ' WHERE id = ' + @Param + '

Is this method efficent? Thank you.
