While I have been programming for 30 years and spent half of that time making a living at it, I currently program for the fun of it. I am a full-time teacher of elementary school age children but continually have the itch to create programming tools and solutions - currently with javascript and php. I prefer to code without the help of jQuery and other libraries as I find it more satisfying and ultimately more flexible.
