JSP - what's the difference between “<% … %>” VS “<%= … %>”

While working with JSP files and servlets , I came across <% … %> and <%= … %> .

What's the difference between both cases ?

<%= … %> will echo out a variable, where as <% … %> denotes a script or some code that is executed.
