In a programming language (e.g. Java), what's the difference between container and wrapper (or is there a difference). I've heard both the terms used vaguely.
Wrappers provide the overall structure or frame of a web page. They generally contain static information that is common across all web pages, such as header branding, section navigation, and company logo.
What is a HTML Wrapper? An HTML wrapper allows you to center content within a webpage. This simple strategy requires CSS (either in the header of the document in a. tag – or ideally in a separate style sheet) to make the wrapper work.
A wrapper div in an HTML document does the same things but to a layout instead of to actual property. The wrapper holds a design within certain boundaries. The various areas of a design cannot escape from the boundaries set by the wrapper.
In the context of software engineering, a wrapper is defined as an entity that encapsulates and hides the underlying complexity of another entity by means of well-defined interfaces.
In programming languages the word container is generally used for structures that can contain more than one element, for example a Map, a Set or a List. These structures normally provide methods like contains, that are semantically suitable if the object can contain more than one item.
A wrapper instead is something that wraps around a single object to provide more functionalities and interfaces to it. The typical example is the Integer class that in Java wraps the base type int.
